For as long as I can remember history has come alive for me through looking at photographs. I have traveled around the world sitting in a chair looking at photographs. I have met many famous people looking at photographs. Through viewing images I have learned about different cultures and landscapes.

I was and remain intrigued by the ordinary being rendered beautiful, the beautiful becoming ugly or the uninteresting becoming captivating through the imagination and talent of a photographer. In using their tools to tell a story, convey a message, or challenge and cajole a viewer to “see” what may have been unseen or overlooked, a photographer can be more than a chronicler they can be a story teller, a magician, an entertainer, and surely an artist.
